What Does General Liability Actually Cover?
Let’s break it down — here’s what general liability insurance protects you from:
-
Accidents on the job – A client trips over a blower left on the walkway.
-
Property damage – Your mower flings a rock through a window (again).
-
Lawsuits & legal fees – If you’re sued, we help cover attorneys, settlements, and peace of mind.
-
Advertising injuries – Think copyright slip-ups or a flyer gone wrong.
It's not about if something will go sideways — it’s about when. This policy has your back when that moment hits.
-

General Liability Insurance FAQ for Landscapers
Do I really need general liability if I work alone?
Yes — even solo operators can cause property damage or get pulled into a lawsuit. One cracked window or trip hazard can cost thousands. This policy keeps your business (and your bank account) protected.
What if I sub out all my work? Am I still liable?
You could be. If your subcontractor causes damage or injury and doesn’t have proper coverage, the claim could still fall on you. We’ll help you structure your policy (and COIs) to protect yourself.
Is this the same as workers’ comp?
Nope — workers’ comp covers injuries to your employees. General liability covers injury to other people (like a client or bystander) and damage to property you don’t own.
Will it cover my tools or equipment?
General liability doesn’t cover your gear — but we can bundle tool & equipment coverage into your plan with an endorsement. We’ll make sure nothing important gets left out.
How fast can I get a certificate of insurance (COI)?
Usually same day — often within an hour. We can even send it straight to your client or GC while you’re headed to the job site.
